America 250 West Palm Beach Concert reviews
Classic entertainers but a lukewarm show overall
We expected to have a marvelous evening of entertainment because of how funny they have been in the past, especially considering what we paid. Instead, we were disappointed to see a teleprompter in front of them and have a very scripted-sounding show delivered in an almost bored manner. Sure, the stories were mildly interesting, but there were very few. Unbelievably, there were TV clips of old skits which is really quite a rip-off for a live show. There was a brief 3-Amigos sketch with audience involvement which was only mildly funny. The musical numbers were okay, except one that was better than exceptional. I didn't realize there would be music but I was not sorry there was. America 250 Short's solo comedy set actually seemed more spontaneous. A banjo number by Steve Martin from a Broadway show that he and Edie Brickell created was indescribable, almost heavenly, as the band joined him.
